Role Overview :
We are seeking a seasoned OpenShift Engineer to join our infrastructure engineering team in Bangalore, Pune, or Hyderabad. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, deploying, and managing large-scale OpenShift clusters on bare-metal hardware, specifically leveraging Dell infrastructure.
You will work closely with cross-functional platform engineering teams, hardware vendors, and internal stakeholders to bridge the gap between traditional virtualization and cloud-native container orchestration. By driving the adoption of OpenShift Virtualization and KubeVirt, you will play a critical role in modernizing our data center footprint, directly impacting the agility, scalability, and operational efficiency of our enterprise-grade applications.
Key Responsibilities :
- Architect and maintain high-performance OpenShift clusters on bare-metal Dell servers to ensure maximum reliability for mission-critical workloads.
- Automate hardware provisioning and lifecycle management using RedFish APIs to reduce manual intervention and improve deployment speed.
- Implement and manage OpenShift Virtualization and KubeVirt to consolidate legacy virtual machine workloads onto a unified Kubernetes-based platform.
- Optimize KVM-based virtualization layers within the OpenShift ecosystem to enhance resource utilization and performance for diverse application stacks.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to establish robust governance, monitoring, and disaster recovery protocols for containerized environments.
- Troubleshoot complex cluster-level issues, providing technical leadership to resolve bottlenecks and ensure seamless platform availability for end-users.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing Red Hat OpenShift environments, with a deep understanding of Kubernetes internals and cluster networking.
- Proven ability to manage bare-metal infrastructure, specifically within Dell server environments, utilizing RedFish for programmatic hardware management.
- Strong proficiency in OpenShift Virtualization and KubeVirt, with a track record of migrating and managing virtualized workloads in a container-orchestrated environment.
- Advanced knowledge of KVM and Linux kernel-level virtualization, allowing for the fine-tuning of compute resources in high-density environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical architectures to stakeholders and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by 7 to 13 years of relevant experience in platform engineering or infrastructure operations.
