Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced Open edX Technical Architect / Lead Developer with 10+ years of software development experience and strong expertise in designing, implementing, customizing, and managing large-scale Open edX learning platforms.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Open edX architecture, Tutor-based deployments, Python/Django development, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and platform customization.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain Open edX LMS and Studio platforms.

- Customize Open edX features, themes, plugins, and learning workflows.

- Develop and maintain custom XBlocks and Open edX extensions.

- Perform Open edX upgrades, migrations, and version management.

- Configure and manage Tutor-based deployments.

- Integrate Open edX with third-party applications using REST APIs, LTI, SSO, OAuth, SAML, and payment gateways.

- Optimize platform performance, scalability, security, and reliability.

- Work closely with business stakeholders, instructional designers, and technical teams.

- Mentor developers and provide technical leadership.

Required Skills :

- 10+ years of software development experience.

- 5+ years of hands-on Open edX experience.

- Strong expertise in Open edX LMS, Studio, and Tutor.

- Proficiency in Python and Django.

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Strong knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB.

- Experience with REST APIs and microservices.

- Knowledge of Linux system administration.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with XBlock development.

- Open edX theming and branding.

- Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.

- CI/CD pipelines.

- Learning Management Systems (LMS) domain experience.

- SSO, OAuth2, SAML integrations.

- Multi-tenant Open edX deployments.

Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
