OneKiraana is building the technology backbone for India's 13M+ kirana stores - the corner shops that power everyday commerce for over a billion people. We give neighbourhood grocers their own private labels, supply chain, logistics, and intelligence, so they can compete and win in a market racing to modernise. Our ambition is simple and large : to become the operating system that every kirana store in India runs on.

We are looking for a QA Engineer to own end-to-end quality across our platforms - web (Next.js, PWA), backend APIs and services, and our upcoming native apps. You'll test across the full stack, from UI behaviour to API contracts to data integrity, and work closely with our engineers to build a strong quality culture as we scale.

What You'll Be Working On :

- B2B E-commerce Platform - Test scalable, high-performance flows serving a growing network of kirana stores.

- Internal Management System - Validate multi-role workflows, RBAC, and operations tooling used by sourcing, packaging, and logistics teams.

- Kirana Ordering App (PWA and React Native) - The store-facing experience used daily by shop owners across India. You'll own its quality from web through native launch.

- Backend APIs & Services - REST APIs, auth flows, data integrity, and integrations across a Node.js / NestJS stack with some Python services and a PostgreSQL database.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own end-to-end testing across frontend (Next.js, PWA) and backend (Node.js, NestJS, Python services, PostgreSQL).

- Write and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and regression suites for every product surface.

- Build and maintain the automation framework - UI automation (Cypress / Playwright) and API automation (Postman / Newman, REST Assured, or similar).

- Validate backend behaviour by writing SQL queries against PostgreSQL and inspecting data integrity end-to-end.

- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions) so every PR ships with confidence.

- File sharp, actionable bug reports - clear repro steps, logs, screenshots, severity - and drive them to closure.

- Own release sign-off and be the last clear-eyed check before code hits production.

- Work cross-functionally with frontend, backend, product, and design (Figma) teams.

Must-Have Skills :

- 2+ years of hands-on QA experience on a web product, covering both UI and API testing

- Strong grasp of HTTP, REST, JSON, and status codes - comfortable debugging via browser dev tools and reading API request/response payloads

- Hands-on experience with at least one UI automation framework (Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium)

- Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, Newman, REST Assured, or similar)

- Comfortable writing SQL queries against PostgreSQL to validate backend state and data integrity

- Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred), and how to integrate tests into them

- Familiarity with at least one scripting language for writing tests (JavaScript/TypeScript strongly preferred, given our stack; Python a plus given parts of our backend)

- Sharp eye for UX inconsistencies, edge cases, and real-world failure modes

- Clear written communication - bug reports, test docs, and async updates

Good to Have :

- Mobile app testing experience - particularly React Native, since native apps are launching next and this is a clear growth path within the role

- Exposure to performance and load testing (JMeter, k6, or Locust)

- Awareness of security testing basics (OWASP Top 10, auth/session edge cases, RBAC boundary checks)

- Experience setting up automation frameworks or QA processes in a previous role

- Familiarity with NestJS conventions or testing Python-based backend services

- Background in B2B, e-commerce, or supply chain products

- Accessibility testing (WCAG 2.1 AA, axe, screen readers)

- Test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, Xray)
