Role Overview :

As the Manager of Android Application Development, you will be responsible for driving the technical execution and delivery of multiple Android applications while leading and mentoring the Android development team. This role combines hands-on development with strategic ownership of app architecture, feature delivery, and release management. The ideal candidate will take complete ownership of Android app quality, performance, and scalability, ensure smooth and timely feature and app releases, and collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and QA teams. As a technical leader, this role will play a key part in shaping engineering best practices and scaling Android development across Omazas growing app portfolio.

Key Responsibilities :

- End-to-End Android Ownership : Own the complete Android application lifecycle across multiple apps, from feature planning and development to app releases, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

- Feature Planning & Release Execution : Lead the planning, development, and release of new features, ensuring timely delivery, quality validation, and smooth rollouts aligned with product roadmaps.

- Team Leadership & Mentorship : Lead, mentor, and manage the Android development team, conduct code reviews, guide junior developers, and ensure consistent engineering standards across the team.

- Architecture & Code Quality Governance : Define and enforce Android architecture patterns (such as MVVM / Clean Architecture), ensure performance optimization, and maintain high standards of code quality, security, and stability.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, and QA teams to translate requirements into well-executed features and ensure smooth delivery across release cycles.

- Performance Monitoring & Stability : Monitor app performance, crash rates, ANRs, and user feedback post-release, driving continuous improvements and ensuring a high-quality user experience.

- Process & Delivery Excellence : Establish and improve development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and agile practices to ensure predictable delivery timelines and scalable team operations.

- Compliance & Platform Readiness : Ensure all applications comply with Google Play policies, security guidelines, and evolving Android platform requirements.

Qualifications :

- Min 5+ years of hands-on experience in Android application development, with at least 12 years in a lead or senior role.

- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java with deep understanding of Android SDK, app lifecycle, UI frameworks, and background processing.

- Proven experience managing or mentoring Android developers and owning delivery for production-grade applications.

- Hands-on experience managing Google Play Store releases, versioning, rollouts, and post-release monitoring.

- Strong ability to communicate technical decisions clearly and work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
