OCP Engineer Job Description :

Job Purpose :

We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Administrator to join our IT/DevOps team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of our OpenShift clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of our containerized environments. The OCP Administrator will work closely with development teams, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to support and enhance our containerized application infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience :

Required Qualification : Diploma/BE/BSC (IT) or equivalent

Preferred Qualification : In-depth knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RH OCP)

Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), with a total experience range of 5 to 15 years.

Required Experience : Experience in developing, deploying, and administering RH OCP solutions for enterprise-level applications.

Skills, Knowledge & Trainings :

Certification : Certification on Red Hat OpenShift Platform is required.

Knowledge :

- Strong understanding of pod scheduling, resource allocation, and affinity/anti-affinity rules.

- In-depth knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RH OCP).

Skills :

- Strong problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication skills.

Area of Operations & Key Responsibilities :

Manage and Maintain RH OCP :

- Design and implement OCP infrastructure.

- Install OCP clusters and manage core services such as Quay Registry.

- Monitor cluster health and resource utilization.

- Install and upgrade cluster operators.

- Manage user permissions using Roles and Role Binding policies.

- Configure persistent storage solutions for stateful applications.

- Create and manage Resource Quotas for optimum resource utilization.

- Manage node-level configurations with MachineConfig.

- Create and manage configuration data with Secrets and MachineConfig.

- Add nodes to the cluster.

- Configure networking solutions such as DNS, Ingress, and HAProxy.

Troubleshooting & Design :

- Troubleshoot OCP-related issues effectively.

- Design OCP clusters to meet organizational requirements.

- Configure networking, storage, and security settings for the cluster.

Operational Excellence :

- Implement backup and restore strategies for cluster data and configurations.

- Perform upgrades of the cluster.

- Configure authentication and authorization mechanisms.

- Set up monitoring tools to track cluster performance and resource usage.

- Conduct fault finding, analysis, and logging of information for reporting performance exceptions.

Other Requirements :

- Comfortable working in 24x7 rotational shifts
