Job Title : DevOps Engineer
Job Summary :
A DevOps Engineer with expertise in AWS is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the tools, processes, and infrastructure needed to support a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
This role bridges the gap between development and operations teams, ensuring efficient and reliable application deployment and infrastructure management in AWS.
Key Responsibilities :
AWS Infrastructure Management :
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure using services like EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, and others.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like AWS cloud Formation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
CI/CD Pipeline Development :
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Use AWS Code Pipeline and AWS Code Build or similar tools for pipeline automation.
Configuration Management :
- Implement configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to automate server provisioning and configuration.
Containerization and Orchestration :
- Develop and manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate them with AWS services like Amazon ECS or EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
Monitoring and Logging :
- Set up monitoring and logging solutions using AWS Cloud Watch, Elastic search, and Kibana for real-time visibility into application and infrastructure health.
Security and Compliance :
- Implement security best practices, including AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption, and security groups.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and AWS security standards.
Collaboration and Communication :
- Collaborate with development, operations, and QA teams to streamline and automate processes.
- Communicate effectively to ensure all team members understand and can use DevOps tools and processes.
Scripting and Automation :
- Develop scripts and automation tools using languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell to streamline repetitive tasks.
High Availability and Disaster Recovery :
- Design and implement solutions for high availability and disaster recovery in AWS environments.
Documentation and Training :
- Create and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and configurations.
- Train team members in DevOps best practices and AWS technologies.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
- Proficiency in AWS services, tools, and CLI.
- Strong scripting and programming skills.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Cloud Formation).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience :
- Typically, 5+ years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS environments.
- Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in AWS.
