We are looking for an experienced Senior PHP Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in PHP, modern web technologies, cloud platforms, and Agile software development, along with experience mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable web applications using PHP and related technologies.

- Build secure, reusable, and maintainable backend services and APIs.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business requirements.

- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

- Take shared ownership of sprint deliverables and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Perform peer code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and quality guidelines.

- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize application performance.

- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and support third-party system integrations.

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical design discussions and architecture decisions.

- Support critical production incidents (Severity 1 & 2) and participate in post-incident reviews when required.

Required Skills :

- 5-9 years of experience in PHP application development.

- Strong hands-on experience with PHP and modern backend development practices.

- Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services.

- Good knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.js.

- Strong experience with MySQL database design, optimization, and query tuning.

- Experience with PHPUnit for unit testing.

- Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch.

- Proficiency with Git, XML, JSON, and RESTful APIs.

- Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and object-oriented programming principles.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments across the full software development lifecycle.

- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Proven experience conducting code reviews and mentoring junior developers.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education (Mandatory) :

- Full-time B.E./B.Tech, MCA, M.Tech, MS, or M.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
