Somnetics is looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Networking & Linux Administrator to manage, secure, and optimize our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux systems, networking technologies, security protocols, and automation. This is an onsite role requiring a strong technical mindset, problem-solving ability, and the capability to ensure high availability of critical systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Ensure high availability, performance, and stability of Linux servers and network infrastructure.

- Deploy, configure, and manage web applications, databases, and associated Linux services.

- Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, VLANs, and other network components.

- Implement strong network and system security practices, including IDS/IPS, access controls, and secure tunneling.

- Monitor infrastructure using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, and respond proactively to alerts.

- Troubleshoot system, network, application, and performance issues; ensure timely resolution.

- Manage DNS, DHCP, NAT, proxies, load balancers, and networking services.

- Use Bash/Python scripting to automate recurring tasks and improve operational efficiency.

- Work with Docker, virtualization technologies, and basic cloud environments for deployments.

- Maintain system documentation, configurations, and SOPs.

- Support backup systems and ensure proper data protection and disaster recovery measures.

Key Skills & Qualifications :

- 4-8 years of experience in Linux administration and network management.

- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and firewalls.

- Expertise in Linux installation, configuration, shell management, and troubleshooting.

- Understanding of VPNs, VLANs, IDS/IPS, network security practices, and traffic management.

- Experience with DNS, DHCP, NAT, proxy servers, load balancers, and related protocols.

- Proficiency in Bash or Python scripting for automation.

- Hands-on experience with Docker, virtualization platforms, and basic cloud concepts.

- Familiarity with monitoring platforms (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).

- Knowledge of backup tools and disaster recovery planning.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Preferred Certifications :

- CCNA / CCNP

- RHCSA / RHCE
