Network Planning & Configuration Expert/Lead

Job Title : IP Transport Network Planning and Configuration Expert/ Lead

Employment Type : Full-time

Location : Remote (must be available to work USA-based hours)

Key Objective :

To lead the planning, configuration, and execution of Point of Presence (POP) migrations within an IP transport network.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Network Planning and Optimization :

- Ensure optimized network capacity aligned with business needs while maintaining QoS and high availability.

- Develop and document network design specifications and operational procedures.

POP Migration Execution :

- Perform and oversee POP migration activities and provisioning of new network links.

- Execute all necessary troubleshooting and configuration changes to ensure smooth migration.

Technical Leadership :

- Serve as the technical lead and mentor for the team, guiding junior engineers and supporting team development.

- Coordinate with on-site partners and end-users to ensure all migration activities are executed successfully.

Issue Resolution & Documentation :

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues to maintain network stability.

Deliverables / Performance Metrics :

- Network performance metrics, bandwidth utilization, and OPEX savings.

- Quality of documentation and compliance with operational standards.

Required Skills and Knowledge :

Technical Skills :

- Strong expertise in IP network protocols and architectures.

- In-depth, handson knowledge of network infrastructure, especially JUNIPER and CIENA

elements.

- Ability to analyze and resolve complex network issues during configuration changes.

Experience & Qualifications :

- Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in IP transport network operations, planning, and optimization.

- Proven experience in consultancy for IP network architecture and OPEX optimization.

Mandatory Certifications :

- CRS-A and CRS-C (Ciena Certified Routing and Switching).
