Position Overview :
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Network Monitoring Support Engineer to join our IT Operations team. This is a Level 1 monitoring and support role with exposure to foundational troubleshooting tasks across a broad network infrastructure environment. While not a full engineering position, it offers the opportunity to work closely with core technologies and grow into deeper technical roles over time.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide Level 1 monitoring and basic troubleshooting support for network infrastructure.
- Monitor and respond to alerts generated by SolarWinds and other monitoring tools.
- Log, track, and update issues using ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.).
- Perform initial diagnosis and escalate issues to Level 2/3 teams as required.
- Maintain documentation related to incidents, system alerts, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with network and server teams to ensure quick resolution of incidents.
- Work in a 24/5 rotational shift environment for proactive network support.
- Assist in maintaining network uptime, performance, and issue resolution tracking.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a network support or infrastructure monitoring environment
OR
- A Technical Diploma/Degree in Information Technology with 3+ years of experience in proactive network support.
- CCNA certification is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools (minimum 2 years).
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).
Good understanding of :
- Cisco routing and switching
- Fundamental troubleshooting principles
- Microsoft Application Suite troubleshooting
- ITIL concepts and practices
- Basic server administration skills
- Familiarity with Python scripting is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in high-availability environments.
