Role Purpose :

The Network Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, scalability, and security of ARaymonds global network infrastructure. This position supports business continuity by resolving network-related issues, optimizing network performance, enforcing security standards, and contributing to the evolution of enterprise network architecture.

Working within a matrix organization, the role fosters ownership, collaboration, and empowerment across global IT communities while embracing ARaymonds servant leadership culture.

The role is supported by two key leadership dimensions :

Referent : Responsible for performance management, career development, learning paths, and overall well-being.

Community Leader : Oversees the functional, technical, and operational aspects of daily network activities.

Key Responsibilities :

Network Administration & Operations :

- Maintain, optimize, and expand global network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and network security platforms.

- Manage the complete lifecycle of network assets, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, replacement, and decommissioning.

- Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance of network services to support global business operations.

- Monitor and analyze network performance metrics, capacity utilization, and fault trends to proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities.

- Develop, maintain, and continuously update network documentation such as topology diagrams, configuration standards, asset inventories, and design documents.

- Define and document standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical guidelines, and best practices aligned with IT governance and compliance frameworks.

- Collaborate with global IT and security teams to ensure proper access rights delegation and enforcement of access control policies.

Network Support & Incident Management :

- Handle network-related incidents, service requests, and change activities through ITSM platforms, ensuring timely resolution in line with SLAs.

- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis across routing, switching, wireless, firewall, and cloud connectivity domains.

- Maintain and enhance network support tools, including configuration backups, monitoring systems, logging platforms, and asset management tools.

- Contribute to problem management initiatives by identifying recurring issues and implementing permanent corrective actions.

- Streamline and document support processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce incident recurrence.

Network Security & Maintenance :

- Administer network access controls and authentication mechanisms in strict alignment with organizational security policies and compliance requirements.

- Manage and support firewall platforms and secure internet access solutions to protect enterprise networks from internal and external threats.

- Plan and execute network upgrades, security patches, and technology refresh initiatives across hardware and software components.

- Utilize advanced monitoring and analytics tools to assess traffic patterns, detect anomalies, and fine-tune configurations for optimal performance and security.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation :

- Proactively propose architectural improvements to simplify network design, enhance scalability, and improve maintainability.

- Stay current with emerging networking technologies, industry trends, and security frameworks to support innovation and future-state architecture.

- Contribute to organizational knowledge through documentation, knowledge-sharing sessions, and collaboration with global IT communities.

- Support automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives where applicable to improve consistency and operational agility.

Education & Experience :

Educational Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or Technology (Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related discipline).

Professional Experience :

- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering roles.

- Proven experience working in a multicultural, global environment supporting business-critical network services.

- Exposure to large-scale, distributed network infrastructures across multiple geographies.
