Job Responsibilities :
Design and Implementation :
- Designing and implementing L3Out configurations within the ACI fabric, including routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VRF-lite, and integration with external networks.
Troubleshooting :
- Diagnosing and resolving complex network issues related to the ACI fabric and its integration with external networks.
Capacity Planning :
- Monitoring network traffic, identifying potential bottlenecks, and providing recommendations for capacity upgrades.
Documentation :
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation related to ACI configuration, troubleshooting procedures, and network designs.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Cisco ACI : Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ACI, including APIC (Application Policy Infrastructure Controller), leaf and spine switches, and L3Out configurations.
- Routing Protocols : In-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Networking Fundamentals : Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs, VXLAN, and IP addressing.
- Troubleshooting : Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
- Communication : Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Certifications : CCNP or CCIE certifications are preferred.
Specific tasks related to L3Outs :
Configuring L3Outs :
- Defining the external network connectivity through L3Outs, including specifying the routing protocols, VRFs, and interface settings.
Managing External EPGs :
- Configuring External Endpoint Groups (EPGs) to represent external networks and manage traffic flows between the ACI fabric and the external network.
Implementing Contracts :
- Defining contracts to control communication between internal and external EPGs, ensuring secure and efficient traffic flow.
Troubleshooting L3Out Connectivity :
- Identifying and resolving issues related to L3Out connectivity, including routing protocol problems, interface errors, and mis-configured policies.
Integrating with External Devices :
- Integrating the ACI fabric with external devices such as routers, firewalls, and load balancers, using L3Outs and other relevant technologies.
In addition to the above, the role may involve :
Migration from Legacy Networks :
- Assisting in the migration of existing networks to the ACI fabric, including the transition of L2 and L3 connectivity.
Participating in Design Workshops :
- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop ACI design solutions.
Providing Support :
- Providing Level 3 support for the ACI fabric and its related components
