Natural Adabas Consultant - Mainframe Ecosystem

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Natural Adabas Consultant to join our mainframe technology team.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Natural and Adabas programming within the mainframe ecosystem, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mission-critical applications that support core business processes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, and maintain Natural/Adabas applications on mainframe platforms.

- Analyze user requirements, system specifications, and business processes to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

- Perform application enhancements, debugging, performance tuning, and optimization.

- Support system integration, data migration, and batch processing operations.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth delivery.

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and deployment procedures.

- Provide production support, issue resolution, and root cause analysis for mainframe applications.

- Contribute to modernization initiatives, integrating legacy Natural/Adabas systems with newer platforms and technologies.

- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, coding guidelines, and security policies.

Technical Skills Required :

- Strong experience in Natural, Adabas, and JCL (Job Control Language).

- Proficiency with mainframe utilities such as SORT, IDCAMS, ISPF, SDSF, TSO.

- Experience with COBOL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS is a plus.

- Good understanding of batch and online processing in the mainframe environment.

- Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Endevor, Changeman).

- Experience in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and error handling on mainframe applications.

- Exposure to Agile or Waterfall project delivery methodologies
