Role : Tosca Automation Engineer (Power BI & Data Validation)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled Tosca Automation Engineer with 3 - 6 years of specialized experience (implied) to focus on data validation and Business Intelligence (BI) report testing. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in Power BI report testing and deep expertise in data validation automation using Tosca DI (Data Integrity). This role is crucial for automating end-to-end validation processes across data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy across sources, staging, and the final reporting dashboards, while working closely with BI, Data Engineering, and QA teams.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Framework and Design :
- Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks using Tricentis Tosca, ensuring scalability and reusability for data validation across different projects.

- Develop and implement Tosca-based test suites to validate complex functional and non-functional requirements.

Data Validation and ETL Testing (Tosca DI) :

- Perform ETL / Data pipeline testing using Tosca DI (Data Integrity) modules, focusing on data completeness, correctness, and transformation accuracy.

- Validate data flows across data sources, staging environments, and final reporting layers, ensuring consistency and adherence to business rules.

- Automate SQL-based data validations for large datasets, performing complex comparisons and assertions against expected outcomes.

Power BI and BI Report Validation :

- Develop robust test suites and automate Power BI dashboards & data reports validation, ensuring visual accuracy, functional filtering, and data integrity presented in the reports.

- Automate BI report comparisons to detect discrepancies in aggregated data, key metrics, and visualizations after data updates or report changes.

Collaboration and Integration :

- Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, BI Developers, and QA team members to define validation scope and resolve data quality issues efficiently.

- Participate actively in test planning, execution, and detailed defect reporting, ensuring clear documentation of root causes and resolution steps.

- Ensure CI/CD integration of automated test suites using tools like Jenkins or Git (preferred), enabling continuous testing of data pipelines and reports.

Documentation and Quality :

- Maintain detailed documentation of test design, execution results, and data validation logic for auditability and knowledge transfer.

- Proactively identify and implement process improvements within the data quality and testing lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Core Tool : Strong hands-on experience as an Automation Engineer using Tricentis Tosca.

- Data Validation : Mandatory experience in data validation automation using Tosca DI (Data Integrity).

- BI Testing : Proven experience in Power BI report testing and dashboard validation.

- Technical : Strong proficiency in SQL for developing complex data validation queries.

- Process : Experience with ETL / Data pipeline testing methodologies.

- Education : B. E / B. Tech / MCA.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience integrating Tosca with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab/GitHub Actions.

- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift).
