Job Description

Job Overview :

- We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join our quality assurance team in Kochi.

- The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in both manual and automated testing, with expertise in Playwright, JMeter, and API testing tools.

- As an Automation Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our product releases by developing and executing comprehensive test plans, automating testing processes, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities :

- Review system requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to develop detailed test plans and test cases.

- Plan, execute, and manage manual and automated tests to validate product functionality, performance, security, and integration points.

- Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Playwright for UI automation, JMeter for load/performance testing, and other relevant API automation tools.

- Ensure comprehensive end-to-end testing coverage for product releases, including regression, functional, and integration testing.

- Track and report bugs, defects, and issues identified during testing, ensuring they are logged, tracked, and resolved efficiently.

- Communicate effectively with development teams regarding defects and ensure proper resolution before product releases.

- Ensure all identified defects and test results are thoroughly documented in defect tracking systems (e.g , JIRA).

- Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other team members to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the SDLC.

- Participate in Agile processes, including sprint planning, daily standups, and sprint reviews, to align testing efforts with development timelines.

- Provide feedback and collaborate with teams to identify areas for process improvement, efficiency, and innovation in the QA process.

- Develop and maintain automation frameworks, ensuring reusability, scalability, and efficiency.

- Implement and continuously improve QA standards and procedures, driving quality assurance best practices across the organization.

- Regularly update and optimize automation scripts to adapt to new product features or changes in requirements.

- Conduct performance and load testing with JMeter to assess the robustness of the system under various conditions.

- Support and contribute to Agile processes, helping to prioritize and deliver high-quality features iteratively.

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks in the testing process and suggesting or implementing solutions.

- Stay current with new testing methodologies, technologies, and industry trends to continuously improve the test automation process.

Key Skills & Qualifications :

Experience :

- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in quality assurance and test automation.

- Strong experience in both manual and automated testing, with a focus on web applications, APIs, and performance testing.

- Expertise in Playwright for browser automation and end-to-end testing of web applications.

- Experience with JMeter for performance and load testing of applications.

- Proficient in API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or custom frameworks.

- Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into the pipeline.

- Familiarity with version control tools (e.g , Git).

- Strong scripting skills, preferably in JavaScript, Python, or Java for test automation and framework development.

- Experience with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, ALM, or similar.

- Ability to develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts.

- Experience with version control systems (Git) and managing test automation repositories
