Associate Principal Engineer, QA Automation (Playwright)

Job Description :

REQUIREMENTS :

- Total Experience : 11+ years.

- Playwright with TypeScript is the core mandatory skill, requiring deep, practical experience in building
and executing automation frameworks.

- Strong practical expertise in UI and API automation using Playwright, Selenium, Rest Assured and
Postman.

- Excellent command of JavaScript/TypeScript, automation design patterns, reusable component
development, and scalable automation architecture.

- Proven experience developing custom Playwright frameworks (POM, Hybrid, Data-driven) with
parallel execution, cross-browser coverage, mocks, intercepts, and fixtures.

- Strong skills in test case design, scenario creation, and aligning testing with functional requirements
and acceptance criteria.

- Hands-on expertise in functional testing, regression testing, API validation, and database testing.

- Ability to integrate automation workflows into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions,
Jenkins).

- Experience with test management & defect tracking tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps.

- Exposure to security testing (OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite - nice to have), BrowserStack, microservices
testing, and AI-driven automation (nice to have).

- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and experience working in Agile/Scrum
environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Lead and drive end-to-end automation initiatives primarily using Playwright with TypeScript.

- Architect, design, and maintain robust Playwright (TS) automation frameworks, ensuring scalability,
reliability, and clean coding practices.

- Create detailed test cases and scenarios derived from user stories, functional requirements, and
acceptance criteria.

- Perform comprehensive UI, API, functional, and regression testing, ensuring new enhancements meet
expected quality standards.

- Integrate automated Playwright suites within CI/CD pipelines for seamless and continuous test
execution.

- Collaborate closely with development, product, and architecture teams to resolve technical and
functional challenges.

- Utilize all approved Sodexo testing tools and follow organizational QA best practices.

- Log, track, retest, prioritize, and close defects efficiently using JIRA/Azure DevOps.

- Contribute to test strategy definition, test planning, environment readiness, and risk mitigation.

- Ensure strong automation coverage through advanced Playwright features, including cross-browser
execution and data-driven scenarios.

- Conduct code reviews, provide technical mentorship, and uplift the team's capability in Playwright
and TypeScript.

- Prepare and present test metrics, dashboards, and automation ROI to leadership and stakeholders.

- Support additional testing areas such as API, database validation, exploratory testing, and basic
security testing when required.

- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
