Role Overview :

As a Senior Cloud Database Engineer, you will be responsible for administering and optimizing cloud-based databases, ensuring availability, scalability, and compliance.

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate databases into cloud infrastructure, implement automation, and maintain best practices in data governance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer and optimize Azure-based databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cosmos DB).

- Perform schema design, indexing, query tuning, and performance monitoring.

- Ensure backup, recovery, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.

- Manage database deployments and networking (VNets, private endpoints, NSGs).

- Work with Azure Storage, Key Vault, App Services, AKS, and Managed Identities for secure integration.

- Partner with DataOps teams to:

- Automate database deployments via CI/CD pipelines.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).

- Enable monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.

- Support ADF pipelines and observability in database services.

- Implement and manage RBAC, firewall rules, and auditing for governance.

- Document configurations, processes, and procedures comprehensively.

Requirements :

- 5+ years experience in database administration, with 2+ years in cloud (Azure/GCP preferred).

- Strong hands-on expertise in Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, MySQL.

- Proficiency in Azure networking, monitoring, storage, and security.

- Experience with DevOps/DataOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.

- Knowledge of Azure compute services: App Service, AKS, Virtual Machines.

- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).

- Proficient in scripting/automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

- Familiarity with data pipelines and migration tools.

- Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
