MS Dynamics Developer - X++ Programming

Position : Dynamics AX / D365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Developer

Experience Required : 6 - 9 years

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Dynamics AX / D365 F&O Developer with strong expertise in X++ programming, SSRS report development, and extension-based customizations. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Dynamics AX architecture, experience in full-cycle implementations, and the ability to deliver scalable, high-quality technical solutions aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and implement solutions in Microsoft Dynamics AX (2012 & later versions) and D365 F&O using X++.

- Work with Azure DevOps (VSTS) for code management, builds, and deployment processes.

- Develop, customize, and maintain SSRS reports for business and operational needs.

- Create and maintain extensions for customization in D365 F&O, adhering to Microsofts best

practices to ensure upgradability.

- Perform interface development for integrations between Dynamics AX/D365 F&O and external systems.

- Customize and enhance forms, workflows, and processes based on functional requirements.

- Prepare Technical Design Documents (TDDs), ensuring clear documentation of customization

requirements, design decisions, and solution approaches.

- Implement and execute unit testing for custom-developed features to ensure quality and minimize post-deployment issues.

- Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.

- Follow best practices for customization and solution design, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.

- Provide production support for deployed solutions, including troubleshooting, bug fixes, and enhancements.

- Participate in end-to-end implementations, from requirement gathering to deployment and post-go-live support.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 7+ years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX development, including end-to-end implementation projects.

- Hands-on experience in D365 F&O development with a strong grasp of extension-based

customization.

- Proficiency in X++ programming language.

- Strong knowledge and experience in SSRS report development within AX/D365.

- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (VSTS) for version control, build pipelines, and release management.

- Good understanding of data entities, OData, and integration frameworks in D365 F&O.

- Basic experience in interface/integration development with external systems.

- Strong understanding of Dynamics AX architecture (AOS, database, models, layers, etc.).

- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have) :

- Exposure to Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).

- Knowledge of Azure services for integration and automation.

- Understanding of performance tuning in Dynamics AX/D365 F&O.

- Experience in data migration and Data Management Framework (DMF).
