Job Description :
We are looking for an experienced Performance Test Engineer with expertise in Playwright and Apache JMeter to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing performance, load, stress, and scalability tests for enterprise-grade applications. The role requires strong automation skills, analytical capabilities, and experience working in Agile environments to ensure optimal application performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Performance Testing :
- Design, develop, and execute performance testing strategies for web, mobile, and API-based applications.
- Create and maintain performance test scripts using Apache JMeter.
- Conduct load, stress, endurance, volume, and spike testing to evaluate system behavior under varying workloads.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and provide recommendations for optimization.
2. Test Automation with Playwright :
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.
- Automate end-to-end testing scenarios for web applications.
- Integrate Playwright automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure test coverage across critical business workflows.
3. Performance Analysis & Monitoring :
- Monitor application performance metrics including response times, throughput, resource utilization, and error rates.
- Analyze test results and prepare comprehensive performance reports.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to identify root causes of performance issues.
- Recommend tuning strategies for application servers, databases, APIs, and network components.
4. API & Backend Testing :
- Perform performance validation of REST and SOAP APIs.
- Validate system scalability and reliability under peak loads.
- Assess database and middleware performance during testing cycles.
5. Agile & Collaboration :
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, DevOps engineers, and product owners.
- Provide quality and performance-related inputs throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
6. CI/CD & DevOps Integration :
- Integrate performance testing and automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines.
- Support continuous testing initiatives in DevOps environments.
- Collaborate with release teams to ensure performance readiness before production deployments.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in Software Testing and Performance Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter.
- Expertise in Playwright automation framework.
- Experience in performance testing of web applications, APIs, and enterprise systems.
- Strong knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, REST APIs, and web technologies.
- Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python.
- Good understanding of performance monitoring and analysis tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with LoadRunner, Gatling, BlazeMeter, or similar performance testing tools.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, or other CI/CD tools.
- Understanding of database performance testing and SQL optimization.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Splunk.
