Movate - Cloud Architect - IAC Terraform/CloudFormation

The Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. This role involves collaborating with development, operations, and security teams to ensure optimal cloud infrastructure that aligns with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and cloud security best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

Cloud Strategy & Design :

- Develop and implement cloud architecture frameworks, best practices, and standards.

- Design highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant cloud solutions.

- Evaluate and recommend cloud services, tools, and technologies.

Implementation & Migration :

- Lead cloud migration initiatives (lift-and-shift, re-platforming, refactoring).

- Automate cloud deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.

- Optimize cloud workloads for performance, cost, and security.

Security & Compliance :

- Ensure cloud environments adhere to security policies, compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2), and industry best practices.

- Implement identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security controls.

Collaboration & Leadership :

- Work closely with DevOps, software engineering, and security teams to align cloud strategies with business goals.

- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership in cloud adoption.

- Conduct cloud training sessions for internal teams.

Monitoring & Optimization :

- Establish cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).

- Continuously optimize cloud costs through rightsizing, reserved instances, and spot instances.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Masters preferred).

Experience :

- 7+ years in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, or solutions architecture.

- 3+ years as a Cloud Architect with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Technical Skills :

- Expertise in cloud services (compute, storage, networking, databases).

- Proficiency in IaC (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

- Understanding of cloud security frameworks and compliance.

- Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures

Certifications (Preferred) :

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional

- Microsoft Certified : Azure Solutions Architect Expert

- Google Professional Cloud Architect
