Job Description - DevOps Engineer (US Shift)

Shift : US Shift (Night IST)
Timings : 12 pm -9 pm, 4 pm -1 am

About the Role :
We are hiring DevOps Engineers to support DevOps implementation and managed operations for large-scale global clients. The role involves building and managing Kubernetes-based platforms on AWS, automating CI/CD pipelines, and enabling security/compliance using Polaris, Black Duck, Vault, and ACM. You will be part of a high-performing team operating in US business hours.
Key Responsibilities :
Kubernetes & AWS Infrastructure :
- Implement and manage self-managed Kubernetes clusters on AWS EC2.
- Configure VPC, subnets, IAM, security groups, routing, autoscaling, networking.
- Manage multi-environment clusters (Dev / Staging / Prod).
- Implement RBAC, Pod Security Standards, namespace isolation.
Infrastructure as Code :
- Build and maintain IaC using Terraform for AWS resources, Kubernetes objects, IAM, networking, and deployment templates.
- Maintain state management and reusable Terraform modules.
CI/CD Pipelines :
- Build secure CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Integrate security scanning tools :
- Polaris (SAST)
- Black Duck (SCA/BOM validation)
- Implement automated build - scan - deploy - rollback workflows.
- Support containerization, Dockerfile optimization, Helm-based deployments.
Security & Compliance :
- Manage HashiCorp Vault for secret injection and dynamic secret rotation.
- Implement certificate automation using AWS ACM.
- Ensure pipeline gating and compliance enforcement.
- Support audit preparation and monthly compliance reporting.
Observability & Operations :
- Implement and maintain monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch.
- Configure alerts, dashboards, log forwarding, cluster health checks.
- Support 165 operations (US shift) with proactive issue management.
- Perform release validation, failover testing, and rollback simulations.
Governance & Reporting :
- Participate in weekly and monthly SLA/SLO reviews.
- Provide reports on pipeline performance, compliance status, cost optimization, and resource health.
- Maintain operational SOPs, runbooks, and deployment playbooks.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS : EC2, VPC, IAM, ACM, CloudWatch, Route 53.
- Expertise in Kubernetes (self-managed or EKS).
- Hands-on with Terraform for IaC.
- Strong command over Jenkins for pipeline automation.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Helm, Git.
- Familiarity with Polaris, Black Duck, or other SAST/SCA tools.
- Experience with Vault for secrets management.
- Good understanding of networking, SSL/TLS, certificates, and security best practices.
- Experience in monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Able to work independently in high-ownership DevOps environments.
Good to Have :
- Experience with cloud cost optimization.
- Experience implementing Blue-Green / Canary deployments.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO, etc.).
- Exposure to governance dashboards and reporting.
Soft Skills :
- Strong communication skills (clients in the US).
- Ability to collaborate with engineering and product teams.
- Proactive ownership and problem-solving attitude.
Shift Requirement :
- Must be willing to work in US Shift (Evening/Night IST).
