About the Role :

We are looking for a highly experienced Oracle Database Migration Specialist with deep expertise in Oracle GoldenGate to lead and execute end-to-end database migration projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, real-time replication, and zero-downtime migration strategies using GoldenGate, both on-premises and in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI, etc.

Youll play a critical role in planning, implementing, monitoring, and validating complex migrations with a strong emphasis on data integrity, performance, and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement robust data migration strategies using Oracle GoldenGate for real-time, high-volume replication.

- Plan and execute zero-downtime migrations from legacy or on-prem databases to target environments (on-prem, cloud, hybrid).

- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot GoldenGate components (extract, pump, replicat, trails, checkpointing, etc.

- Ensure bidirectional replication, conflict detection/resolution, and proper synchronization pre-cutover.

- Perform database assessments, source/target environment compatibility checks, and schema/data validations.

- Optimize Oracle database performance during migration using techniques like partitioning, parallel execution, and tuning.

- Validate data consistency and referential integrity post-migration

- Automate migration processes using GoldenGate scripting, Oracle Data Pump, and Shell/Python scripts.

- Create detailed runbooks, rollback plans, and verification checklists.

- Work with cloud-native Oracle solutions (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) or other platforms like AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL/Oracle VM, etc.

- Migrate and replicate data to/from heterogeneous environments when needed.

- Document architecture, configuration, and operational procedures.

- Collaborate with application teams, DBAs, infrastructure, and security to align migration timelines and support post-migration stabilization.

- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and train internal teams on GoldenGate best practices.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7+ years of experience in Oracle database administration and performance tuning.

- 3+ years hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate (11g, 12c, 19c) in production environments.

- Proven experience with large-scale Oracle database migrations across environments (on-prem to cloud, cross-region, hybrid).

- Strong knowledge of :

- Oracle RDBMS (11g/12c/19c)

- PL/SQL scripting

- Oracle Data Pump, RMAN, and backup/restore strategies

- Oracle RAC and Data Guard (a plus)

- Familiar with database monitoring, alerting, and performance tools (OEM, AWR, ASH, etc
