About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in SQL Server, SSIS, and Azure Data Factory (ADF) to join our data and analytics team.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data integration solutions that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence needs.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data flows across cloud and on-premise environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, build, and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

- Develop efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources (databases, APIs, files, etc.

- Implement data quality checks, validation routines, and error-handling mechanisms to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

- Optimize ETL workflows for performance, scalability, and reusability.

- Schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot ETL jobs and orchestrations.

- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions for data transformation and reporting.

- Design and maintain relational data models, data marts, and data warehouses to support analytics.

- Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to define data structures and integration patterns.

- Monitor database performance, implement indexing strategies, and ensure data integrity.

- Integrate on-premise and cloud data sources using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Data Lake Storage.

- Leverage ADF pipelines, linked services, and dataflows for orchestrating cloud data movement.

- Implement parameterized, reusable pipeline components and automation scripts (PowerShell, Python preferred).

- Work closely with DevOps teams to build CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.

- Ensure compliance with data governance standards, including data lineage, metadata management, and access control.

- Implement data security, masking, and encryption strategies for sensitive data.

- Maintain documentation for ETL processes, data dictionaries, and system configurations.

- Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business users to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, providing accurate estimates and technical input.

- Research and adopt new data engineering tools and cloud technologies to improve existing systems.

- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance data processes and improve efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or ETL development.

- Strong expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning).

- Hands-on experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for ETL development and data migration.

- Proven experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipeline creation, dataflows, triggers, and orchestration.

- Knowledge of Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Data Lake.

- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schema, normalization).

- Experience integrating structured and semi-structured data (CSV, JSON, Parquet).

- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with business and technical teams.

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
