Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Migration Specialist to lead and execute cloud migration initiatives across applications, data, and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, migration methodologies, modernization strategies, and cloud architecture best practices.

This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and secure migration to Azure.

Key Responsibilities :

- Assess existing on-premise or legacy environments to determine migration readiness, risks, and dependencies.

- Develop end-to-end migration strategies, including rehost, replatform, refactor, or modernize approaches.

- Prepare detailed migration plans, timelines, and cost estimates aligned with business requirements.

- Design scalable, reliable, and secure Azure architectures, including compute, networking, storage, and identity.

- Implement Azure landing zones, governance, and subscription management.

- Configure Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Load Balancers, ExpressRoute, and VPN gateways.

- Lead migration of servers, applications, databases, and workloads to Azure using tools such as Azure Migrate, ASR, and Database Migration Service (DMS).

- Execute P2V, V2V, and cloud-to-cloud migration activities.

- Modernize applications using Azure App Services, AKS, Functions, or containerization strategies.

- Migrate databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL) to Azure SQL, Managed Instances, or Cosmos DB.

- Handle data transfer, ETL/ELT processes, schema conversions, and performance optimizations.

- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security during migration.

- Develop scripts and automation using PowerShell, Python, ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.

- Work with CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation and environment management.

- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for repeatable and consistent deployments.

- Implement Azure security best practices (identity, encryption, RBAC, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud).

- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO, SOC2).

- Monitor and maintain posture using Azure Security Center, Policy, and Blueprints.

- Conduct pre-migration and post-migration validation to ensure performance, security, and functionality.

- Optimize workloads for cost efficiency using Azure Cost Management and autoscaling strategies.

- Troubleshoot migration issues and provide remediation steps.

- Work closely with application owners, network teams, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders.

- Create migration playbooks, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational documentation.

- Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- 5 to 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or application modernization.

- Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Migrate, ASR, DMS, ARM/Bicep, and Azure Portal.

- Experience with cloud networking, security, monitoring, and governance.

- Strong knowledge of virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), Windows/Linux administration.

- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
