MongoDB Developer II

Job Summary :

We are looking for a mid-level MongoDB Developer with 25 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and optimizing MongoDB-backed applications.

The ideal candidate has strong data modeling skills, understands MongoDBs distributed architecture, and can integrate MongoDB efficiently with backend services in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities :

MongoDB Data Modeling & Design :

- Design and maintain MongoDB collections based on application access pattern.

- Manage schema evolution and document versioning.

Querying & Performance Optimization :

- Write efficient CRUD operations and aggregation pipeline.

- Design and manage indexes (single, compound, TTL, partial)

- Analyze query performance using explain plan.

- Identify and resolve slow queries and high-latency operations.

- Optimize read/write throughput for high-volume workload.

MongoDB Architecture & Scalability :

- Work with replica sets for high availability

- Understand and implement sharding strategies.

Security & Reliability :

- Implement role-based access control (RBAC) in MongoDB.

- Ensure encryption at rest and in transit.

- Design and test backup and restore strategies.

- Apply TTL indexes and data retention policies.

Cloud & DevOps :

- Work with MongoDB Atlas or self-managed MongoDB on cloud platforms or AWS Documentdb.

- Monitor clusters using MongoDB tools and cloud monitoring solutions.

- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 2 - 5 years of hands-on experience with MongoDB in production.

- Strong understanding of document-based data modeling.

- Proficiency with MongoDB query language and aggregation framework.

- Experience with indexes, replica sets, and basic sharding.

- Strong programming skills in at least one backend language.

- Experience with MongoDB Atlas or cloud-hosted MongoDB.
