Job Description

Description :

We are seeking a Mobile Architect to lead the technical vision and architecture for Shipsy's mobile applications. Our mobile platform is mission-critical; over 200,000 drivers across 30+ countries rely on our apps daily for route optimization, proof of delivery, real-time tracking, cash reconciliation, and more.

With the rapid expansion of our customer base and increasing complexity of B2B logistics workflows, we need a technical leader who can bring architecture governance, best practices, and first-principles thinking to our mobile engineering.

This role will shape how we build mobile experiences for the next phase of growth, including AI-powered features, generative UI for dynamic interfaces, and deep integration with our Agentic AI platform.

Responsibilities :

- Lead mobile architecture decisions across all Shipsy mobile applications, ensuring consistency, scalability, and maintainability across a platform processing 6M+ shipments daily.

- Design and implement server-driven UI and generative UI architecture to support dynamic, AI-powered workflows that adapt to different B2B logistics use cases without app updates.

- Architect mobile experiences that integrate seamlessly with Shipsy's Agentic AI platform, enabling features like AI-driven route suggestions, intelligent notifications, and autonomous exception handling.

- Establish and enforce architecture governance, review all major technical decisions, conduct architecture reviews, and ensure best practices across the mobile team.

- Own the mobile platform strategy, including offline-first architecture, data synchronization, and performance optimization for challenging field conditions (low connectivity, varying device capabilities).

- Drive first-principles thinking, challenge overcomplicated solutions, and guide engineers toward incremental, pragmatic approaches that ship reliably.

- Work closely with backend/platform teams to ensure mobile-backend contracts are well-designed and mobile-first considerations are addressed.

- Mentor and coach mobile engineers on architecture patterns, code quality, and engineering excellence.

- Evaluate and implement new mobile technologies, frameworks, and AI capabilities that align with Shipsy's AI-first engineering philosophy.

- Own the reliability and performance of mobile applications used by 200,000+ drivers and establish SLAs, monitoring, and observability practices.

Requirements :

- 8+ years of hands-on experience in mobile engineering, with at least 3 years in an architecture or technical leadership role.

- Deep expertise in either iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) with strong cross-platform understanding.

- Proven experience designing and implementing server-driven UI systems for dynamic, configurable applications Generative UI experience is a strong plus.

- Strong experience with offline-first architecture, local data persistence, background sync, and conflict resolution.

- Track record of building mobile applications for complex B2B workflows, with preference for logistics, field services, supply chain, or enterprise applications.

- Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into mobile applications, on-device inference, AI-powered features, or LLM-driven interfaces.

- Experience with mobile platform engineering: SDKs, shared components, design systems, and modular architecture.

- Deep understanding of mobile performance optimization: startup time, battery consumption, memory management, and network efficiency.

- Strong experience with mobile observability: crash reporting, performance monitoring, analytics, and A/B testing frameworks.

- Excellent communication skills; able to articulate technical decisions to both engineering and business stakeholders.

- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or field service applications is highly preferred.
