About the Role :

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Middleware Support Engineer to join our enterprise IT operations team. This role requires hands-on experience in supporting complex middleware environments and business-critical applications like Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, Tableau, JBoss, MicroStrategy, WebMethods, or equivalent platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Unix/Linux, Windows, and AIX system administration, shell scripting, and middleware technologies. You will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and reliability of middleware services and integrated applications through continuous monitoring, issue resolution, and process automation.


Key Responsibilities :


- Provide end-to-end support for middleware platforms such as JBoss, WebMethods, MicroStrategy, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, Tableau, etc.

- Manage deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and patching of application servers and integration layers.

- Monitor application logs, perform root cause analysis for service issues, and ensure recovery with minimal downtime.

- Perform Unix/Linux, Windows, and AIX system administration tasks, including performance tuning, user access management, and OS-level troubleshooting.

- Support system infrastructure including load balancers, DNS, firewalls, and network configurations relevant to middleware applications.

- Create and maintain automation scripts (Shell, Bash, Python) to streamline deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks.

- Administer and troubleshoot Control-M job scheduling environment and ensure scheduled tasks run efficiently and on time.

- Implement and maintain proactive system and application monitoring using tools like Splunk, Nagios, or equivalent.

- Manage incident response, escalation, and root cause analysis, ensuring resolution within defined SLA timelines.

- Document resolutions, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for recurring issues and solutions.

- Work closely with development, QA, DevOps, database, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless application lifecycle management.

- Contribute to change and release management processes, including planning, testing, and implementation.

- Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies for improving middleware reliability, scalability, and automation.


Required Skills & Qualifications :


- 5+ years of experience in middleware/application support and system administration.

- Hands-on experience with tools/platforms such as : Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, Tableau, JBoss, WebMethods, MicroStrategy (at least a few of these).


- Strong skills in Unix/Linux, Windows, and AIX environments.

- Proficient in shell scripting (Bash, Korn, or similar) for automation.

- Solid understanding of Control-M job scheduling and its management.

- Experience with incident/problem/change management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).

- Working knowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) for querying and connection troubleshooting.

- Familiarity with network infrastructure (load balancers, firewalls, DNS, SSL certs, etc.).

- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
