Role Overview :



As a Middleware Expert, you will play a critical role in the installation, configuration, administration, and support of enterprise middleware platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and seamless integration of middleware technologies across complex IT environments.

This role requires deep technical expertise across open-source and commercial middleware stacks, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to collaborate across infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams. Your contributions will directly impact system stability, scalability, and operational excellence.

Key Roles & Responsibilities :



- Install, configure, document, and support middleware platforms across development, test, UAT, and production environments.

- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, upgrades, patching, and debugging of middleware environments.

- Coordinate environment configuration to ensure seamless integration with operating systems, databases, applications, and network components.

- Document middleware platforms and related infrastructure covering functionality, administration, maintenance, and recovery procedures.

- Install and configure server operating systems, enterprise software, and middleware services, including directory structures, storage, and runtime settings, in accordance with standards and operational requirements.

- Provide Level 3 (L3) technical support to resolve complex production issues and incidents.

- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to define infrastructure standards and contribute to the technology roadmap.

- Participate in technical design discussions, providing consulting support, requirement analysis, and solution documentation.

- Support installation, configuration, and upgrades of enterprise application software, including customization of configuration parameters and environment management.

- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance availability, scalability, performance, and resilience of middleware platforms.

- Ensure compliance with corporate policies related to security, change management, and operational controls.

- Coordinate with vendors, solution partners, and internal teams for issue resolution, product upgrades, and design alignment.

- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.

Required Skills & Experience :



- 6- 9 years of hands-on experience in middleware administration and support in enterprise environments.

- Strong expertise in one or more middleware technologies, including :


1. Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, Nginx, IIS

2. Oracle WebLogic, Oracle HTTP Server (OHS)

3. IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)

4. JBoss / WildFly

- Strong experience working with Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems.

- Proficiency in shell scripting for automation and operational tasks.

- Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, ports, firewalls, load balancers).

- Experience with Perl scripting (or equivalent scripting languages).

Preferred / Nice to Have :



- Experience with DevOps and open-source middleware tools.

- Exposure to automation frameworks and configuration management tools.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and middleware deployment automation.

- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Experience working in high-availability and large-scale production environments.

Education :



Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
