Job Summary :
The Middleware Administrator will be responsible for installation, configuration, administration, capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of middleware technologies. This role involves supporting highly available enterprise environments while ensuring compliance, security, and seamless integration with other IT systems. The candidate must be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support and document installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of middleware environments.
- Coordinate environment setup to ensure alignment with other IT systems and infrastructure.
- Administer and tune middleware platforms to achieve high availability and optimal performance.
- Provide Level 3 technical support and guidance to IT teams and end-users.
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Contribute to defining infrastructure standards and the overall architecture roadmap.
- Participate in design discussions, requirement gathering, and solution implementations.
- Recommend and implement improvements for performance, security, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with corporate data security, change control, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and solution partners for issue resolution and upgrades.
- Install and configure operating systems, server configurations, and middleware services as per project requirements.
Mandatory Skills :
- Strong experience with IBM MQ, WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments with strong system administration skills.
- Good understanding of networking concepts and related configurations.
- Expertise in troubleshooting middleware and application server issues.
- Hands-on experience in server configurations, directories, and storage management.
Additional Required Skills :
- Extensive knowledge of :
1. Apache Tomcat / Apache HTTPD / Nginx / IIS
2. Oracle WebLogic / Oracle HTTP Server
- Strong scripting skills :
1. Shell scripting
2. Perl scripting
- Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD automation related to middleware environments will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Qualification :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications will be a plus.
