Microsoft Purview Engineer is responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining data security, compliance, and governance solutions using Microsoft Purview tools and services.
How Youll Make An Impact :
- Integrate Purview with Microsoft and third-party services.
- Perform data discovery and create policies for auto-labelling SITs.
- Conducted pilot testing and provided feedback on Data Classification and DLP policies.
- Collaborate with data owners, IT teams, and business units to align data governance policies.
- Support regulatory compliance efforts (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) by providing data visibility and
control.
- Support leadership with reports for decision-making.
- Regularly review and update Purview configurations to align with evolving threats and
compliance needs.
- Stay up to date with Microsoft Purview feature updates and best practices.
- Participate in security assessments and maturity reviews to enhance the organizations data
governance posture.
- Implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies using Microsoft Purview.
- Perform ongoing proactive platform availability, health, and issue monitoring to allow
potential issues or outages to be communicated and swiftly remediated.
- Escalate tasks and route cases to vendor support or upper tier engineers as required.
- Develop and maintain runbooks for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting issues.
- Perform any required agent restarts, redeployments, or updates to address business
impacting issues.
- Assist in troubleshooting Microsoft Labelling and Endpoint DLP implementation and user
issues and document resolutions.
- Provide IT support to end-users by troubleshooting incidents related to DLP issues and
address user service requests including an intake hotline.
- Perform accuracy review check on simulated alerts in Active Explorer to refine the policies.
- Monitor and investigate DLP alerts or violations.
- The role demands the availability for US working hours (5PM (IST) to 2AM (IST)).
- This role is Work From Office role.
- Have 5+ years of IT experience, with minimum 3 years focused on Microsoft Purview.
- Must have admin skills for most of the Azure services and managed via the Azure console.
- Some understanding of AWS/Google cloud services.
- Knowledge of Microsoft technology such as Server, AD, DNS, Group Policy, and Office
365/Exchange, Azure, Azure Entra ID.
- Knowledge of Defender Suites (XDR, Endpoint, O365, Identity, VM, Cloud Apps, etc.
- SC-401 Information Security Administrator Associate certification is preferred.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to build relationships with and influence other functional areas.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
