Microland is seeking a highly experienced Network Architect with deep hands-on expertise in designing, implementing, and operating large-scale, complex enterprise and service provider networks.
This role demands strong ownership, expert-level technical depth, and the ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and automated network architectures across multi-OEM environments.
Role Summary :
The Network Architect will be responsible for end-to-end network architecture and design, with a strong focus on data center, WAN, campus, wireless, and cloud networking.
The role requires expert-level knowledge (CCIE / JNCIE level), hands-on troubleshooting capability, and accountability for complex routing, switching, and security scenarios across global environments.
This is a senior technical role with design authority, responsible for driving modernization, automation, and next-generation networking initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
Architecture & Design :
- Design end-to-end architectures for LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, SDN, Wireless, and Data Center environments
- Apply OEM best-practice frameworks such as Cisco DNA & ACI, Juniper / Arista EVPN-VXLAN, IP Fabric, and Juniper Mist
Traffic Engineering :
- Architect and manage complex routing using BGP, OSPF, MPLS, with QoS considerations
Security & Edge Architecture :
- Design firewall policies, security zones, NAT, VPNs (IPsec / Remote Access)
- Implement micro-segmentation and Zero Trust architectures
- Work extensively with Juniper SRX / Cisco NGFW platforms
Security Integration :
- Integrate Network Access Control (NAC) solutions for profiling, posturing, AAA, and policy enforcement
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE or equivalent platforms
Cloud Networking :
- Architect and deploy cloud networking across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Design VPC/VNet architectures, subnets, routing tables, and security groups
Wireless & AI Operations :
- Design and standardize wireless templates and RF optimization strategies
- Implement MPSK, RADIUS, TACACS policies
- Lead transition to Juniper Mist, leveraging AIOps for Wired, Wi-Fi, and WAN assurance
Transformation & Modernization :
- Conduct As-Is assessments, lead technical planning workshops, and create phased migration playbooks
- Act as Design Authority for architecture and configuration standards
- Drive automation initiatives using Python, Ansible, or Terraform
Operations & Troubleshooting :
- Lead troubleshooting for FOAK and high-severity incidents
- Own resolution of critical incidents and SLA adherence
- Collaborate across security, systems, and application teams
Documentation & Governance :
- Create and maintain HLDs, LLDs, and design documentation
- Ensure compliance with architecture, security, and operational standards
Required Skills & Experience :
- 12+ years in Network Engineering, with 5+ years in architecture or design leadership roles
- Experience managing networks with 1000+ sites within a single organization
- Led at least 4 large implementation / transition / transformation programs
- Expert-level certification such as CCDE / CCIE / JNCIE
- Strong expertise in :
- Deep understanding of IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, QoS/CoS, multicast, HA (VRRP, GRES, NSR/NSB)
- Proven troubleshooting using Junos traceoptions, flow sessions, Wireshark, TCPdump
- Experience working in ITIL-based environments with strong change management discipline
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers and internal stakeholders
Preferred / Nice-to-Have :
- Strong Juniper expertise and certifications
- Automation and scripting using Python, Ansible, Juniper PyEZ
- Experience with Juniper Mist, Contrail, SDN/SD-WAN, cloud-managed networking
- Integration of SRX with SIEM / SOC workflows
Education :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience
