Role Mission :

MenuWise transforms complex, inconsistent, and constantly changing foodservice information into trusted culinary intelligence. This role is responsible for the Python-based platform that powers that transformation. You will build and maintain the systems that acquire, interpret, enrich, validate, manage, and distribute supplier product, ingredient, nutrition, pricing, and operational data across the platform.

What You Will Work On :

- Platform Operations & Workflow Automation: Build and maintain our Django-based operational platform, develop internal tools, and design workflows that support review, validation, and quality-control processes.

- Django Platform Development: Build and maintain Django applications, services, and APIs, improving performance, maintainability, and engineering quality.

- Supplier Product Intelligence: Build systems that collect and manage supplier product information, supporting acquisition, validation, and normalisation workflows.

- Data Pipelines & Information Processing: Build ingestion, validation, enrichment, and transformation pipelines, managing scheduled jobs and background processing systems.

- Web Scraping & Data Acquisition: Build and maintain web scrapers using Scrapy, Playwright, Requests, and related technologies to collect supplier and foodservice information at scale.

- Data Intelligence & AI: Build systems that transform raw information into structured knowledge, integrating modern AI and LLM capabilities where they create practical value.

- Algorithms & Data Quality: Design algorithms that compare, benchmark, and validate foodservice information, ensuring data remains trustworthy and explainable.

Required Skills :

- 5+ years professional Python development experience.

- Strong experience with Django and Django Admin.

- Experience designing and maintaining production backend systems.

- Practical experience with Scrapy, Playwright, Requests, or similar technologies.

- Experience building ETL, ingestion, enrichment, or automation pipelines.

- Strong PostgreSQL experience.

- Experience with Docker, Git, and modern development workflows.

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

- Ability to design maintainable, scalable systems.

- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Have :

- FastAPI experience.

- Airflow, Celery, RabbitMQ, or orchestration platforms.

- LLM integration experience.

- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.

- Experience with image processing or computer vision.

- Knowledge graph, classification, matching, or recommendation systems experience.

- Experience working with scientific, nutrition, product, or pricing datasets.

- SaaS platform experience.

- Foodservice, hospitality, retail, ecommerce, or supply-chain experience.

What Success Looks Like :

Within your first six months you will have improved the reliability of the Django platform, delivered new workflow automation, improved supplier product intelligence, increased data quality, and helped establish engineering standards.
