Role Overview :
As a Medical Device Integration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in connecting our medical devices with hospital information systems (HIS) and electronic medical records (EMR). You will collaborate closely with product development, software engineering, and clinical teams to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of clinical workflows and the accuracy of patient data, ultimately contributing to improved patient care.
- Design and implement medical device integration solutions using industry standards such as HL7 and FHIR for seamless data exchange with hospital systems.
- Configure and test device connectivity to ensure accurate and reliable data transmission to EMRs and other clinical applications.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and provide technical support to internal teams and external clients to resolve connectivity problems and ensure system stability.
- Collaborate with product development teams to define integration requirements for new medical devices, ensuring interoperability with existing healthcare IT infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and efficient support.
- Evaluate new integration technologies and standards to identify opportunities for improving our integration capabilities and enhancing product functionality.
- Participate in the development and execution of validation protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement medical device integration solutions using HL7, FHIR, and other relevant standards.
- Proven expertise in configuring and troubleshooting device connectivity with EMRs and hospital information systems.
- Strong understanding of healthcare IT infrastructure and clinical workflows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external clients.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
