We are seeking an experienced Lead Test Engineer with strong expertise in Java and Appium to lead our mobile and web automation testing initiatives.

The role requires ownership of automation strategy, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring high-quality delivery across complex projects.

You will work closely with QA, development, and product teams to define test plans, implement robust automation frameworks, and drive testing excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and implement test automation strategy for mobile and web applications using Appium and Java.

- Lead, mentor, and guide QA and automation engineers to adopt best practices in test automation.

- Participate in requirement and design discussions to provide early feedback from a testing perspective.

- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and scripts using Java and Appium.

- Implement automated test suites for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.

- Ensure reusability, scalability, and maintainability of automation scripts.

- Execute automation test cases and analyze test results to identify defects.

- Work closely with product managers, developers, and QA teams to define clear test requirements and scenarios.

- Collaborate with CI/CD teams to integrate automation into build and release pipelines.

- Provide timely updates on testing progress, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders.

- Develop test plans, test cases, and execution schedules.

- Review and approve test scripts developed by team members.

- Track, analyze, and report metrics such as defect trends, coverage, and automation ROI.

- Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities in the QA process.

- Participate in load, performance, and stress testing activities when required.

- Troubleshoot complex issues and provide solutions to ensure high-quality deliverables.

- Promote continuous improvement in automation processes, tools, and team efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 812 years of experience in QA/Testing with at least 5+ years in automation testing.

- Strong hands-on experience in Java programming.

- Hands-on experience with Appium for mobile automation.

- Experience with Selenium WebDriver and web automation frameworks.

- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and DevOps practices.

- Experience with CI/CD integration using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.

- Strong knowledge of testing concepts, automation frameworks, and design patterns.
