Job Purpose :

The Material Master Data Support Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of material master data across the enterprise. This role provides advanced operational support, drives continuous improvement, and partners with cross functional teams to maintain high quality data that enables efficient supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, and finance operations. The analyst serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for material master processes, data standards, and system functionality.

Key Responsibilities :

Material Master Data Management :

- Oversee creation, maintenance, and governance of material master records across all business units.

- Ensure compliance with global data standards, naming conventions, and classification structures.

- Perform complex data updates, mass changes, and data corrections with a high degree of accuracy.

Operational Support & Issue Resolution :

- Troubleshoot data inconsistencies, integration failures, and process gaps across SAP and connected systems.

- Collaborate with IT and functional teams to resolve root causes and prevent recurring issues.

Process Governance & Continuous Improvement :

- Lead initiatives to optimize material master processes, workflows, and data quality controls.

- Develop and refine SOPs, data governance rules, and audit procedures.

- Identify automation opportunities and support enhancements to SAP and related tools.

Cross Functional Collaboration :

- Partner with supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, engineering, finance, and quality teams to understand data requirements and ensure alignment.

- Support new product introductions (NPI), engineering changes, and lifecycle management activities.

- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and data stewards.

Data Quality, Validation & Compliance :

- Conduct data audits, profiling, and validation to ensure completeness and accuracy.

- Monitor data quality KPIs and lead corrective action plans.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and internal control requirements.

Training & Documentation :

- Develop training materials and deliver sessions for business users on material master processes and best practices.

- Maintain detailed documentation for data standards, workflows, and support procedures.

Required Qualifications :

- 7-10 years of experience in material master data management or related data governance roles.

- Strong expertise in SAP (ECC or S/4HANA) material master structures, fields, views, and integration points.

- Deep understanding of supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, and inventory processes.

- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and lead cross functional problem solving.

- Experience with data quality tools, mass update utilities, and data governance frameworks.

- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Material Master and Fiori apps.

- Background in MDM or enterprise data governance programs.

- Familiarity with engineering change management, BOM structures, and product lifecycle processes.

- Industry experience in manufacturing, distribution, or regulated environments.
