Master Data Consultant

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Global Master Data Consultant to drive the design, governance, maintenance, and optimization of master data across global business units. This role ensures that enterprise datacustomer, product, vendor, material, finance, and other critical domainsis accurate, consistent, secure, and aligned with organizational standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive expertise in Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, data quality, and ERP/MDM tools such as SAP MDG, Oracle MDM, Informatica MDM, or similar.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement global master data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.

- Ensure alignment of master data strategy with business objectives across regions and functions.

- Lead discussions with global stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship models, and governance best practices.

- Manage and maintain master data across domains such as Customer, Vendor, Product/Material, Finance, Employee, Pricing, etc.

- Oversee global data creation, enrichment, validation, and approval processes.

- Ensure consistency and harmonization of master data across multiple systems and business units.

- Act as a subject matter expert for data structures, hierarchies, attributes, and relationships.

- Define, measure, and improve data quality metrics and KPIs across global datasets.

- Identify data inconsistencies, duplicates, and integrity issues and drive remediation plans.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards (GDPR, SOX, industry-specific rules).

- Implement automated data validation and cleansing processes where applicable.

- Configure and support MDM/ERP systems such as SAP MDG, SAP ECC/S4HANA, Oracle MDM, Informatica MDM, or other platforms.

- Participate in MDM system implementations, upgrades, and global rollouts.

- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate master data between systems using APIs, ETL tools, or middleware.

- Ensure master data flows smoothly between ERP, CRM, PLM, SCM, BI, and other enterprise applications.

- Partner with global business teams to understand master data requirements and process impacts.

- Provide guidance and training to business users, data stewards, and super-users.

- Facilitate workshops for data governance, harmonization initiatives, and blueprinting sessions.

- Translate business needs into functional specifications for IT and development teams.

- Maintain documentation for data standards, rules, workflows, and processes.

- Prepare reports, dashboards, and insights on data performance and compliance.

- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline data processes and drive continuous improvement.

- Stay updated on industry MDM trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) and data governance principles.

- Experience with MDM and ERP tools such as SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, Oracle MDM, Informatica MDM, Tibco EBX, or similar.

- Knowledge of data modeling, data integration (ETL), and data validation methodologies.

- Hands-on experience with workflow tools, data quality tools, and metadata management systems.

- Familiarity with SQL and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).

- Understanding of APIs, middleware, or integration technologies is a plus.
