Role Overview
Maruti Techlabs is seeking an experienced QA Lead who will be responsible for defining, managing, and executing quality assurance activities across multiple projects and customers.
This role demands strong leadership, process ownership, and the ability to ensure high-quality deliveries while meeting strict timelines.
The QA Lead will work closely with Project Managers, Delivery Managers, Customers, Product Owners, Development, and DevOps teams to drive quality across the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities :
Quality Strategy & Process Ownership
- Define and implement QA processes, standards, and best practices across projects.
- Create and maintain QA strategies, test plans, and quality metrics for different types of projects.
- Ensure compliance with project-specific and organizational quality standards.
- Continuously improve QA processes for better efficiency and effectiveness.
Planning & Estimation
- Prepare QA effort estimations, test schedules, and resource plans.
- Identify testing scope, risks, and dependencies early in the project lifecycle.
- Ensure timely test execution without compromising product quality.
Test Execution & Governance :
Oversee manual and automated testing activities, including :
- Functional testing
- Regression testing
- API testing (SOAP / REST)
- Load and stress testing
- Ensure proper defect tracking, root cause analysis, and resolution.
- Monitor quality metrics and provide regular status and quality reports.
Automation & Tools :
- Research, evaluate, and select suitable testing tools and frameworks for :
API testing :
- Functional test automation
- Load and stress testing
- Drive automation adoption and framework improvements across projects.
- Ensure optimal use of tools to improve test coverage and execution efficiency.
Leadership & Team Management :
- Lead, mentor, and guide the QA team across multiple engagements.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and support skill development of team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and quality ownership.
Stakeholder Collaboration :
- Act as the primary QA point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with :
- Project and Delivery Managers for planning and execution
- Product Owners for requirement clarity and validation
- Development and DevOps teams for CI/CD and release quality
- Communicate risks, quality issues, and mitigation plans effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Technical Skills :
- Strong experience in software testing methodologies and QA processes.
Hands-on experience with :
- SOAP and REST API testing
- Functional automation tools (e.g, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
- Load and stress testing tools (e.g, JMeter or equivalents)
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and QA involvement in DevOps environments.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools.
Leadership & Communication :
- Proven experience in leading QA teams across multiple projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills.
- Ability to influence quality outcomes across cross-functional teams.
Experience & Education :
- 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
- Prior experience as QA Lead / QA Manager is preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
