Manual Tester - Functional/Regression Testing

Key Responsibilities :

- Understand product requirements, technical specifications, and use cases to derive comprehensive test scenarios.

- Design, document, and execute detailed manual test cases for functional, regression, UI/UX, integration, and system testing.

- Conduct thorough smoke testing, sanity testing, exploratory testing, and ad-hoc testing to uncover bugs or inconsistencies.

- Identify, document, and track bugs and issues using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or TestRail.

- Reproduce issues and work with developers to verify bug fixes.

- Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing.

- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives in an Agile/Scrum environment.

- Provide test estimations, contribute to test planning, and participate in reviews of requirements and test cases.

- Collaborate with automation engineers to identify test cases suitable for automation.

- Ensure deliverables meet functional and quality requirements before production deployment.

Technical & Functional Skills :

- Defect tracking: JIRA, Bugzilla, Azure DevOps

- Test case management: TestRail, qTest, Zephyr

- Documentation: Confluence, Excel, Word

Testing Types Expertise :

- Functional Testing

- Regression Testing

- UI/UX Testing

- Smoke & Sanity Testing

- System & Integration Testing

- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

- Compatibility Testing (across browsers/devices)

Basic Understanding Of :

- SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies

- API Testing using Postman or equivalent tools (optional but preferred)

- Basic SQL for data validation and backend testing

- Familiarity with DevOps environments and deployment workflows (nice to have)

Soft Skills :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Team player with proactive attitude and the ability to work independently

- Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and domain knowledge

Qualifications :

- 26 years of experience in manual software testing

- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification (preferred but not mandatory)
