Manual Tester Banking Domain

Experience: 58 Years

Location: Hyderabad / Kolkata

Shift: EST Working Hours (Shift 2 / Shift 3)

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentation to understand application functionality.

- Identify requirement gaps, ambiguities, and inconsistencies by working closely with business and development teams.

- Prepare comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on business requirements.

- Execute manual test cases for functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.

- Validate application functionality against business requirements and expected outcomes.

- Identify, log, track, and report software defects using HP ALM.

- Manage the complete defect lifecycle, including defect reporting, retesting, verification, and closure.

- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to resolve defects and clarify requirements.

- Participate in requirement review meetings, walkthroughs, and sprint planning sessions.

- Ensure complete test coverage across application modules and releases.

- Prepare daily, weekly, and release-level test execution reports.

- Support production validation and post-deployment verification activities when required.

- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance testing quality and efficiency.

- Ensure adherence to QA standards, testing methodologies, and organizational best practices.

Required Skills:

- 58 years of experience in Manual Testing.

- Mandatory experience in the Banking Domain (Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Payments, Lending, Cards, or Digital Banking).

- Strong experience in requirement analysis and identifying requirement gaps.

- Hands-on experience in designing test scenarios and preparing detailed test cases.

- Expertise in executing manual test cases and validating business functionality.

- Experience in functional, regression, integration, and system testing.

- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

- Hands-on experience with HP ALM for:

1. Test Planning

2. Test Case Design

3. Test Execution

4. Defect Tracking

5. Test Reporting

- Experience in defect lifecycle management and defect prioritization.

- Good understanding of banking business processes and workflows.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Exposure to UAT support and client interactions.

- Knowledge of SQL for basic database validation is an added advantage.

- Familiarity with API testing concepts is desirable.

- Experience with Jira or other defect management tools is a plus.

- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.

Educational Qualification:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- Relevant software testing certifications (ISTQB or equivalent) will be an added advantage.

Shift Requirement:

- Candidate should be flexible to work in EST business hours (Shift 2 / Shift 3).

- Willingness to support critical releases and production validation activities whenever required.
