Manual Test Engineer - Functional/Regression Testing

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Test Engineer to join our QA team.

The candidate will be responsible for functional and regression testing of web, mobile, and desktop applications to ensure high-quality software delivery.

This role requires understanding of business requirements, test case creation, execution, and defect management.

The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, be thorough in testing, and have the ability to collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to deliver defect-free applications.

Key Responsibilities :

Test Planning & Execution :

- Analyze requirements, specifications, and use cases to identify test scenarios.

- Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for functional and regression testing.

- Perform end-to-end testing including functional, integration, and UI testing.

- Ensure complete test coverage of features and modules.

Defect Management :

- Identify, log, track, and manage defects using tools such as Jira or Bugzilla.

- Work closely with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and verify defects.

- Retest resolved defects and ensure bug-free releases.

Test Documentation :

- Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, and test execution reports.

- Maintain proper documentation of test results and quality metrics.

- Provide inputs for continuous process improvement in QA practices.

Collaboration & Reporting :

- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA leads to ensure test requirements are met.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

- Provide regular updates on testing progress, defects, and release readiness.

Regression Testing :

- Perform regression testing for each software release to ensure that existing functionality remains unaffected by new changes.

- Maintain regression test suites and update them based on new features or changes in the application.

Required Skills :

- Strong experience in manual testing of web, mobile, or desktop applications.

- Proficient in functional, regression, integration, and UI testing.

- Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools (Jira, Bugzilla, TestRail, Zephyr).

- Understanding of SDLC and STLC processes.

- Knowledge of test case design techniques such as Boundary Value Analysis, Equivalence Partitioning, and Exploratory Testing.

- Basic understanding of SQL queries and database testing is a plus.

- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
