Role Overview :
The Manager - VLSI and Embedded Systems will lead a high-performance engineering design team in the development of analog, digital, and mixed-signal systems for airborne applications.
This leadership role requires deep expertise in FPGA design (VHDL), embedded programming (C), and the complete lifecycle of electronic systems development.
The position is a blend of technical depth, project leadership and compliance with aerospace standards, driving innovation while ensuring safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Team Management :
- Lead, mentor, and manage the VLSI & Embedded Systems design team.
- Provide strategic direction, set goals and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation and collaboration.
Technical Design & Development :
- Architect and design analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics for embedded aerospace systems.
- Develop, simulate, and validate designs using VHDL and embedded C.
- Collaborate with PCB and Mechanical CAD teams for component integration and enclosure design.
- Provide domain expertise in power electronics and engine control (preferred).
Project Execution & Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Drive project planning, budgeting and milestone delivery.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Production, QA and Software teams for seamless integration.
- Lead design reviews and provide updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Aerospace Standards & Compliance :
- Prepare and review technical documentation as per CEMILAC and aerospace guidelines : ATP, QTP, V&V reports, Design Reviews, Reliability Analysis, FMEA, FMECA.
- Ensure compliance with DO-254, DO-178, MIL-STD-461/704/810, JSS55555.
- Uphold airworthiness, safety, and quality protocols across all design activities.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation :
- Stay updated on advances in VLSI, embedded systems and verification tools.
- Introduce process improvements for better performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Mentor and upskill junior engineers, building long-term team capabilities.
Key Skills & Competencies :
- Strong expertise in analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit design
- FPGA design and VHDL programming
- Embedded C programming and microcontroller-based systems
- Knowledge of airborne compliance standards : DO-254, DO-178, MIL-STDs
- Proficiency in aerospace-grade design documentation and validation
- Strong project leadership, analytical problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Job Qualifications :
Education : B./B.Tech or M./M.Tech in related discipline.
Experience : 8- 12 years in embedded systems, VLSI design.
Preferred : Experience in FPGA architecture, and subsystem integration
