Our Team :
Were an engineering team of 200+ people who develop the technology to power Cimpresss commerce platform that allow customers to easily navigate, discover and purchase the products that they need. We use a variety of modern technologies like Node, React, NextJS, AWS, and many more to build scalable solutions. Through a mix of Agile principles, technical excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You Will Do :
People Leadership & Talent Management :
Direct Management :
- Act as the direct manager for a team of engineers in India, overseeing their career development, performance reviews, and daily engagement.
Team Building :
- Independently plan and execute changes to team staffing.
- This includes identifying skill gaps, defining new roles, and managing the hiring process to ensure the team is sized correctly for company goals.
- Technical Accountability :
- Build a culture of ownership where engineers are accountable for their delivery.
- You will identify process bottlenecks and proactively clear roadblocks to keep the team moving.
Technical Delivery & SDLC Excellence :
Process Improvement :
- Modernize and maintain the teams SDLC processes.
- You ensure the team isn't just 'writing code,' but building high-quality systems that prioritize reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tools.
Architectural Guidance :
- Partner with Architects to ensure the team builds simple, straightforward solutions.
- You are responsible for reducing technical complexity and ensuring the system architecture is flexible enough for future growth.
Hands-on Oversight :
- Contribute to the teams success by providing high-level feedback on pull requests and reviewing the overall architecture of new features before they are built.
Operational Strategy & Metrics :
Efficiency Tracking :
- Regularly track, share, and improve team metrics (such as velocity, quality, and deployment health) to build a highly performant and predictable team.
Tech Debt Advocacy :
- Identify areas of technical debt and perform cost/benefit analyses for resolving them. You will work directly with Product teams to ensure this work is integrated into the roadmap.
Product & Stakeholder Partnership :
Roadmap Execution :
- Partner with Product Managers to define deliverables and refine technical estimates.
- You are responsible for all resource assignments and ensuring the roadmap is realistic.
Risk Communication :
- Serve as the primary voice for the team regarding technical concerns, scope changes, and project timelines, ensuring stakeholders have full visibility into delivery risks.

- 10+ years of experience engineering full-stack systems
- 4 + years of managing a team across distributed locations.
- Ability to engage in technical discussions, ask the right questions, engage at a helpful level and sniff out suboptimal decisions, and advocate for and teach good ones.
- Exceptional coaching and mentorship skills
- Proven track record of being proactive, moving with purpose and responding to problems efficiently.
- Experience identifying risk and strong ability to assess and address risk when needed
- Strong project management skills with an ability to create and manage roadmaps and track and improve team velocity
