Mainframe Tester - Automation Testing

Job Overview :

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer with expertise in Mainframe Automation Testing, UFT (Unified Functional Testing), and the Banking Domain. The ideal candidate will design and implement automated test solutions for legacy mainframe applications, ensuring high reliability and seamless performance in a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain automation test scripts using UFT for mainframe applications.

- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing of banking applications.

- Design and execute test cases, test plans, and test strategies for legacy and modern banking systems.

- Utilize JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM for mainframe testing validation.

- Perform API testing and integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines.

- Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA, HP ALM, or similar.

- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure quality delivery.

- Ensure compliance with banking regulations, security protocols, and best practices.

Required Skills :

- Mainframe Testing Experience with JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS, VSAM

- Automation Testing with UFT (Unified Functional Testing)

- Strong knowledge of Banking & Financial Domain workflows

- Experience in Test Management Tools JIRA, HP ALM, or similar

- Knowledge of Test Automation Frameworks and scripting

- Proficiency in SQL queries for database validation

- Experience with batch processing & data validation in mainframes

Nice-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with Selenium, API Testing (Postman, SOAP UI)

- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git

- Exposure to Cloud-based Banking Solutions
