We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Test Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Mainframe Testing and exposure to test automation. The ideal candidate will have experience testing mainframe applications built on COBOL and DB2, along with working knowledge of modern automation frameworks and Agile methodologies.

This role involves functional, integration, and automation testing of mission-critical mainframe systems, collaborating closely with development and business teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Mainframe Testing

- Perform functional, system, and regression testing for Mainframe applications.

- Test applications developed using COBOL, DB2, and related mainframe technologies.

- Validate batch jobs, online transactions, and data integrity.

- Use REXX comparison tools to validate outputs and identify discrepancies.

Test Automation

Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts using :

- Selenium

- Core Java

- BDD / Cucumber

- Develop reusable automation components and enhance test coverage.

- Execute automated test suites and analyze results.

Tools & Technologies :

Work with version control and CI/CD tools such as :

- GitHub

- Maven

- Jenkins

- TestNG (or similar frameworks)

Use test management and defect tracking tools such as :

- JIRA

- Zephyr (or equivalent tools)

- Perform API automation testing to validate service integrations.

Agile & Collaboration :

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.

- Ensure timely defect reporting, tracking, and closure.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 5 - 10 years of experience in Mainframe Testing.

- Strong hands-on experience with COBOL and DB2 testing.

- Experience with REXX comparison tools.

- Experience in test automation using Selenium, Core Java, and Cucumber (BDD).

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD and build tools (GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, TestNG).

- Knowledge of API automation testing.

- Experience working in Agile development environments.

- Proficiency in JIRA, Zephyr, or similar test and defect management tools.
