Mainframe System Analyst - JCL/DB2/COBOL

Description :

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe System Analyst to analyze, design, and support mainframe-based applications and systems.

The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, developers, and operations teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and secure mainframe solutions that meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications for mainframe systems

- Provide system analysis and design support for mainframe applications (z/OS environment)

- Collaborate with developers on COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and batch/online processing solutions

- Perform impact analysis for system changes, enhancements, and production issues

- Support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and production deployments

- Monitor and troubleshoot production issues; perform root cause analysis and recommend fixes

- Coordinate with infrastructure, database, and operations teams for system performance and availability

- Maintain system documentation, process flows, and technical specifications

- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

- 5+ years of experience as a Mainframe System Analyst or similar role

- Strong knowledge of IBM Mainframe (z/OS) environment

- Hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM

- Experience with batch and online transaction processing systems

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

- Experience with change management and release processes
