About the job :

Role & Responsibilities :

- Analyze existing and anticipated system software needs and provide recommendations to ensure alignment with the organization's evolving

- Serve as the SME for mainframe z/OS system programming, specializing in problem analysis and resolution.

- Offer expert-level support and mentorship to team members on technical matters.

- Review and propose updates to system software to ensure it supports both current operations and future organizational goals.

- Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities & customer-focused support while resolving infrastructure and application issues on z/OS systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer and support z/OS systems, including user, performance, and journal management.

- Provide technical support for z/OS OS & components, including upgrades, installations, and testing.

- Support and troubleshoot ISV products & conduct root cause analysis for system issues.

- Analyze and resolve performance issues & provide expert guidance to other IT teams.

- Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing & lead daily operations meetings and monitor for any critical incidents.

- Identify and manage ongoing problem trends.

Technical Skills Required :

- Expertise in z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM

- Experience with BRMS, Tape Management, ATL/VTL

- Strong knowledge of ISV product support

Preferred Skills :

- SME-level experience in Mainframe z/OS

- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills

- Ability to provide technical leadership and evaluate future system needs.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field

- 8+ years' experience as System Administrator

This position is based in Bangalore/Hyderabad/Chennai/Delhi/Mumbai
