About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer / Support Engineer to join our team.

In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for both developing new functionalities and providing critical support for our mainframe systems and applications.

This includes ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our mainframe environment, primarily within the Wealth Management (Advisory & Mutual Fund) domain.

You will play a vital part in maintaining our core business applications, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to the evolution of our mainframe solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Monitoring and Maintenance :

- Continuously monitor the health, performance, and availability of mainframe systems, applications, and critical batch jobs.

- Conduct routine system maintenance, apply necessary updates, and proactively ensure optimal system operation.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution :

- Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues related to mainframe systems, applications, and batch processing.

- Perform thorough root cause analysis for incidents and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence, contributing to long-term stability.

Security and Compliance :

- Implement and enforce robust security protocols and policies to safeguard sensitive data and systems on the mainframe.

- Ensure strict compliance with relevant industry regulations and internal standards.

Collaboration and Communication :

- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional IT teams, including application developers, system administrators, database administrators, and business analysts.

- Communicate clearly and concisely with end-users and stakeholders to address their needs, provide updates, and resolve issues.

Documentation :

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, troubleshooting steps, and application functionalities.

Performance Optimization :

- Proactively identify areas for performance improvement within mainframe systems and applications.

- Implement changes and fine-tune configurations to optimize system performance and resource utilization.

Application Support & Development :

- Provide expert technical support for mission-critical mainframe applications, ensuring their continuous availability and proper functioning.

- Contribute to the full application development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment of new features and enhancements.

Required Skills & Experience :

Mainframe Development Experience : Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe development and support roles.

Primary Skills (Mandatory) DB2 (Mandatory) :

- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with DB2 concepts, including Database design, table creation, indexing, and optimization.

- SQL querying, performance tuning of SQL statements.

- Understanding of DB2 utilities and commands.

- COBOL Stored Procedures : Strong experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining COBOL Stored Procedures.

- Native Stored Procedures : Solid understanding and experience with Native Stored Procedures in DB2.

- Expert-level proficiency in COBOL programming for developing and maintaining complex mainframe applications.

- Extensive experience in writing, debugging, and optimizing JCL for batch processing and utility execution.

Secondary Skills (Highly Desired) :

- Experience with CICS for online transaction processing, including CICS program development and troubleshooting.

- Familiarity with IBM MQ for message queuing and integration between mainframe and distributed systems.

- Exposure to Python scripting for automation, data processing, or integration with mainframe systems.

- Domain Expertise Wealth Management : Experience or strong understanding of the Wealth Management (Advisory & Mutual Fund) domain is highly desirable. This includes familiarity with relevant business processes and data.
