Mainframe Developer - JCL/COBOL

Mainframe Developer

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team to provide both development and production support for mission-critical mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2 VSAM, and CICS, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :

- Provide L2/L3 production support, including root cause analysis and permanent fixes.

- Analyze and resolve batch job failures and performance issues.

- Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

- Participate in incident, change, and problem management processes as per ITIL standards.

- Perform impact analysis, code walkthroughs, and peer reviews.

- Monitor system performance and optimize programs and JCL to improve efficiency.

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements :

Required Skills and Experience :

- COBOL, JCL, DB2 VSAM, and CICS are Mandatory.

- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

- Experience in supporting large-scale enterprise systems.

- Familiarity with tools like File-AID, Endevor/Changeman, XPEDITER, or similar.

- Experience in production support (incident management, job monitoring, etc.).

- Knowledge of Agile and/or ITIL processes is a plus.
