Role Overview :

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Batch Operations Professional responsible for ensuring seamless service delivery of batch processing and file transmissions across mainframe and distributed environments. This role involves handling critical SLAs, including financial transactions and data exchanges with merchants, banks, clients, and regulatory systems.

The candidate will act as the first line of support for incident management, ensuring timely resolution or escalation to relevant support teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Monitor, manage, and support batch processing operations in large Mainframe and Distributed environments

- Execute and support IPLs, system maintenance, and planned/unplanned outage recovery activities

- Perform JCL analysis, job restarts, and troubleshoot batch failures and performance issues

- Monitor and manage JES queues, initiators, and workload distribution

- Handle console operations, including WTOR/WTO messages, system alerts, and resource constraints

- Ensure timely execution of file transmissions using tools like NDM (Connect : Direct)

- Identify and resolve batch processing bottlenecks and abends

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for incident resolution and escalation

- Maintain adherence to SLA timelines and operational standards

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field

- 4-5 years of experience in Mainframe Data Processing Operations

- Strong hands-on experience with IBM MVS / OS390 / zOS environments

- Expertise in JCL, JES2/JES3 operations, and batch job management

- Solid understanding of IBM Console Operations (WTOR/WTO, dumps, resource management, DASD/Tape operations)

- Experience with batch scheduling tools such as CA-7 and Control-M

- Knowledge of NDM (Connect : Direct) for z/OS file transfers

- Proven ability in incident analysis, problem-solving, and batch troubleshooting

- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work in rotational 12-hour shifts (No night shifts)

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools

- Knowledge of ITIL framework (Incident, Change, and Problem Management)

- Ability to collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams for issue resolution

- Strong documentation and communication skills
