Job Summary :

We're seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Assembler Developer with a minimum of 7+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in both C/C++ and Assembler on the z/OS platform. This long-term contract role requires a professional who can develop modern agent software, work comfortably in an Agile environment with CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate across mainframe, distributed, and cloud environments. You will be responsible for hands-on development and system management, ensuring robust and well-documented solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Software Development & Architecture : Develop and maintain modern agent software for the z/OS platform. You will engage in Agile, test-driven development practices to build reliable and efficient solutions.

- System & Data Management : Work with core mainframe components such as JES2/3, RACF, and IPCS for system management. You will be responsible for handling SMF records and managing critical dataset types like GDG and VSAM.

- Cross-Platform Collaboration : Collaborate effectively with teams specializing in Linux/Unix and cloud environments. You will utilize version control tools like Git to manage code across a hybrid landscape.

- Automation & Documentation : Support complex automation software used by Fortune 500 companies. You will also be responsible for ensuring strong, clear documentation of all development processes and code.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- A minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in software development.

- Proven, solid experience with C/C++ and Assembler on the z/OS platform.

- Hands-on experience working in Agile environments with CI/CD pipelines.

- Strong technical knowledge of core mainframe systems, including SMF records, GDG, VSAM, JES2/3, RACF, and IPCS.

- Proficiency with version control tools, specifically Git.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with z/OS XL C/C++ compiler.

- Knowledge of other mainframe technologies such as DB2, IMS, or CICS.

- Familiarity with modern integration techniques for connecting mainframe applications to cloud services.

- Experience in developing and supporting automation software in a large enterprise setting.
